James is a Strategy Consultant and performance improvement specialist with broad experience in the healthcare sector as an executive, consultant, and board member.

A process-driven executive with a record of creating exceptional shareholder value for clients searching for gains in very competitive markets, James has developed and executed strategies that created sustained revenue market share leadership for brands in competitive service-driven markets – including those operating in the healthcare, hospitality, and allied sectors.

James has worked with leading healthcare and senior care providers, hospitality providers, survey vendors, and consultants across the continent on projects that led to deeper understandings of the importance of engaging and retaining employees, enacting employer-of-choice strategies to attract employees, and managing performance improvement programs for complex healthcare organizations (in the USA).  Additionally, he has:

  • Spearheaded projects that have helped our clients reduce turnover via employee engagement strategies.
  • Implemented strategies that helped position our clients as employers of choice, attracting and retaining more and better talent in their fields.
  • Challenged and improved ED throughput in high volume departments, increasing patient flow, and the number of patients served daily
  • Supported innovative attraction and retention strategies for a leading long term care provider
  • Developed and implemented strategies that have supported surgical wait-listed patients by providing alternative, accredited options
  • Led a $30M multi-unit subsidiary of a North American hospitality enterprise to top 1% employee engagement and retention
  • Provided internal audit services to a hospitality system with 60 outlets in 3 countries

He has served on numerous boards over the years and lives in Edmonton, Alberta with his wife, Wendy.
